Forget The Future

David Cicero was a singer and keyboardist who was signed in 1989 to Spaghetti Records. The story goes that he attended a Pet Shop Boys' concert in Glasgow in 1989 and gave a demo tape to Peter Andreas, the Pet Shop Boys' personal assistant. Peter Andreas contacted Cicero with an offer of artist management and later when Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe heard Cicero's material, they signed him up to their recently formed Spaghetti label.

Two of the tracks on his 1991 debut album ‘Future Boy’ were produced by PSB; Heaven Must Have Sent You Back To Me and That Loving Feeling. The album didn’t fare too well, and PSB tried once more getting him to sing Live For Today for the ‘Crying Game’ soundtrack.

Sadly, Cicero had minor success in the charts and then like many a popstar disappeared into the ether. He seems to have reinvented himself as a trance producer as part of the duo ‘Jacob Mendez’.
