Rock The Nation

Coming from the same stable (Jeepster Records) as Snow Patrol and Belle and Sebastian (they don’t sound like either), and with an album produced by Iain Gore (who also produced The Brakes, Larrikin Love and Babyshambles), SixNationState are well positioned to be a band to get excited about.

With frenetic guitars, a lead singer that sounds like he’s this close to being sectioned and his spent his life smoking cigarettes and swigging whisky straight from the bottle, the bandhas produced a cracking album that is choc-full of catchy tunes mixing folk, rock, ska and sound track to the scariest circus in town.

Listening to the album I really struggled to pick out just a few tracks to share – nearly every track here has something going for it – this is (inpite of the morose lyrics) one of the most fun (jaunty?) albums of the summer.

I'm crossing my fingers for a Girl Talk remix of "I Hate The Summer". That'd be sweet.
