Presence - All Systems Gone

Ahh….the summer of 1999 – I remember it well. I’d graduated, was chilling in London, in between degrees – the weather was fantastic and I’d just come back from Barcelona and Brighton. This was the summer for all summers to beat. Listening to All Systems Gone, and it all comes back to me.

One of the seminal deep house albums, ASG features the vocals of Shara Nelson and Sara Jay (both who have also featured on a number of Massive Attack tracks.). A stunning album, it evokes the lazy summers on the beach (or the pebbles that make up Brighton Beach).

If you are a fan of Everything But The Girl’s Temperamental or Rae & Christian’s Northern Sulphuric Soul, this is one album you have to check out.

A truly awesome album - a lost classic of the 90s. Like Massive Attack's Blue Lines if they had grown up listening to house instead of hip-hop....
